Netflix’s LOST IN SPACE Reviews are in. 93% on RT. What are the critics saying?

Netflix’s re-boot of the classic 1960s science fiction TV show “Lost in Space” premieres this friday, and if you have enough free time you can watch all ten episodes at once. THE TRAILER looks great, the story appears to be darker than the original, the footage of Parker Posey as Dr Smith is compelling and the robot doesn’t look like a gum ball machine with vacuum cleaner arms. My Sci-Fi fanboy head just exploded. Before we get too excited, lets see what the critics are saying. The reviews are in with a 93% Rating on Rotten Tomatoes, and the critical consensus seems to be extremely positive but there are sone mixed reviews.

Corey Chichizola from CinemaBlend  writes “What the show does bring to the table is a big budget sci-fi adventure that actually has some heart to it.

Cameron K. McEwan from Digital Spy postulates, “If they continue to get it right, Lost In Space could run for light years. Not all critics are as impressed however,  The Verge criticizes that “the show has a promising premise. But it’s undermined by dumb character decisions and a haphazardly realized world”. Lost_in_Space_Jonathan_Harris_&_Robot_1967

Now you would think dumb character decisions are needed in order to get lost in space! I believe some mishaps or poor judgement is needed to get your whole family stranded on an alien planet. Its not called “Everything is alright in Space”. That show would be very boring. The critic goes on to write, “there is a lot of potential for this show, and Netflix has done an admirable job of updating a campy series for a modern audience”. Other mixed reviews come from Dino-Ray Ramos from DEADLINE Hollywood who writes,   Netflix’s Lost in Space Reboot Blasts Off With Confidence But Never Reaches Full Orbit.

With just five days until its premier you can read the reviews and draw your own conclusions, but as an avid Sci-Fi fan, give me a modern re-telling of a classic and beloved story, high production values, compelling characters and 10 hours of sci-fi streaming and I am sitting pretty.
