The Lost in Space reboot is almost here premiering April 13th on Netflix. In all its streaming glory viewers will have the chance to watch all ten episodes at once. The trailer looks amazing, you can tell NETFLIX spared no expense, (watch the official trailer here) with an annual production budget of 8 million dollars, it is about time they created a space opera epic. Parker Posey is cast as the beguiling Dr Smith and there has been a quiff of an uproar from those who feel this is politically correct casting. For those who saw “Dazed and confused” and “Superman Returns” knows this is just good casting.
Toby Stephens fresh off his role on “Black Sails” plays the determined and ever resourceful John Robinson, the dad. For anyone who has seen Black Sails is aware this guy can pull off the patriarch role. He was quoted as saying “It’s a very clever, modern reworking of a great story. Lost In Space is Swiss Family Robinson in space”. The lost in space story is simple, In the year 2046, the Robinson family and the spaceship Jupiter 2, one of several Jupiter ships, encounters a rip in spacetime and crashes on an unknown planet. Awesome. What is not to love.
